Jesus, The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived
He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in another village, where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty.
Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.
He never wrote a book.
He never held an office.
He never had a family or a home.
He didn't go to college.
He never visited a big city.
He never travelled two hundred miles from the place where He was born.
He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness.
He had no credentials but Himself.
He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against Him.
His friends ran away.
One of them denied Him.
He was turned over to His enemies and went through the mockery of a trial.
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.
While He was dying, His executioners gambled for His garments, the only property He had on earth. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.
Centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure of the human race.
All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not effected the life of man on this earth as much as that One Solitary Life."
Jesus Christ came to seek and to save those who are lost. Only he can save you from sin. To be saved:
1- Admit that you are a sinner.
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
2- Realize You Can't Save Yourself
Abandon any efforts to save yourself. Jesus died on a cross 2000 years ago to pay your sin debt. His death would have been unnecessary if you could somehow save yourself! Religion, denomination, and moral deeds cannot get you to heaven. The Bible says it is "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His [God's] mercy He saved us" (Titus 3:5). Salvation is by God's grace, "not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).
3- Repent of your sins and ask Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life.
Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved." After you repent of your sins and ask for salvation, receive this free gift from God and thank him for it! If you are ready to give your life to Jesus Christ pray this simple prayer and mean it from your heart.
God, I know that I am a sinner. Jesus, I know you love me and I believe You are the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe You rose from the dead. I now repent and turn away from my sin and, by faith, I now receive You as my personal Lord and Savior. Jesus, come into my heart, forgive my sins, and save me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer from your heart, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY OF GOD! Please email us and let us know what just happened to you. Here is some good advice for your new journey.
1. Read your Bible everyday: This helps you to grow in your faith. It’s extremely important that you develop a habit of daily Bible study.
2. Pray: Prayer is simply talking with God. It’s important that you pray each day and preferably many times during the day. You can talk to God at any time.
3. Church: Get into a church where Christ is proclaimed. You need to have fellowship with others that are believers. It helps to strengthen you and helps you grow in your faith.
4. Witness: Be a witness for Christ by your actions in everyday life. Let people know that you are a totally changed person by the way you live your life and by your actions. Nothing can go as far to be a great witness for Christ as living by example.
Finally, since you are a new creation in Christ, you will face evil attacks on your spirit as well as your faith. The Devil will try to make you doubt that you were ever saved and even try to make you think that all this Christian stuff is not even real, or that God isn’t listening to you when you pray. Please know that he is a liar and his mission is to steal, kill, and destroy. You have the power of God living inside of you now and greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world!
