Fugitive Warrant and Drug Charges
Monday, October 1, 2012 at 9:45AM A fugitive warrant served in Wilkes led to additional drug charges. Wilkes Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at a Poplar Grove Road house to serve a fugitive warrant from Virginia. The suspect, James Ester, was at home at the time. As Deputies were explaining to Ester about the warrant, they noticed marijuana and some drug paraphernalia in plain view. Ester admitted that the drugs and other items belonged to him. He was arrested on the fugitive warrant and received additional charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Wilkes County Jail and given a 1000 dollar bond.
