Sen Hagan and Historically Black NC Colleges
Monday, October 1, 2012 at 9:44AM After leading a bipartisan resolution designating last week as “National Historically Black Colleges and Universities Week,” U.S. Senator Kay Hagan announced two grants worth $6.7 million as part of the Strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Program. North Carolina A&T will receive $5,246,940 and Bennett College will receive $1,457,849. Hagan said, “I’m pleased that these grants will help improve the affordability and quality of education at North Carolina A&T and Bennett College.” In total, North Carolina’s ten HBCUs will receive more than $28 million through the program.
