Looking For Hit & Run Driver

Wilkesboro Police are still looking for a vehicle involved in a hit and run early yesterday morning.  Just before 1am Tuesday, a light colored mini-van was traveling West on River Street.  The van crossed the center line, went left of center, jumped a curb, and collided with a chain link fence near Tyson.  The van traveled about 60 feet down the fence and damaged 6 metal posts.  A witness saw the wreck and told Police that the driver regained control and continued on River Street before turning onto Wilkes Street.  A BOLO has been issued for the van involved in the hit and run and charges are pending.  The fence, owned by Tyson Foods, sustained over 1500 dollars in damages.
