Intimidating a Witness in Wilkes
Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 10:06AM A Wilkes County man was arrested this week for intimidating a state’s witness. The victim is a witness in an armed robbery in 2011. According to the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office, the man, Dustin Pruitt, reportedly tried to prevent the victim from testifying by harassing them on Facebook. Pruitt also filed charges against the victim for simple assault. He then told the victim that he would drip the assault charges in exchange for payment and that is considered extortion. Pruitt was arrested and charged with intimidating a state’s witness and extortion. He was taken to jail but later released on bond.
