WCC Red Ribbon Week Events
Monday, October 15, 2012 at 9:44AM Wilkes Community College is observing Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week today through Friday with a week-long lineup of educational events and guest speakers. The annual celebration continues to be celebrated nationally on college campuses as “Red Ribbon Week.” Today at 11 a.m. at the Mayes Pit/Cohn Auditorium – it’s “Anatomy of Prescription Overdoses: The Community Response of Project Lazarus” presented by Fred Brason, chair of the Wilkes Substance Abuse Task Force. Brason will give an update on prescription drug abuse and overdoses in our community as well as the effectiveness of the community response of Project Lazarus. Tomorrow at 11 a.m., you can enjoy a course in healthy tailgating at this walk-through event. Pass the trivia round and enjoy free hotdogs and drinks.
