Road Signs Found in Bushes

Where did they come from, how long had they been there, and why hadn’t anyone reported them stolen?  Wilkesboro Police received a call over the weekend regarding some street signs.  The reporting person showed the Police a pile of street signs at the end of Greenbriar Lane in Wilkesboro.  The signs appeared to have been torn off posts and were hidden in some bushes at the end of the road.  According to the Police report, it looked like the signs had been in the bushes for an extended amount of time.  The signs included a Hickory Place and Forest Drive sign, a Cedar Lane sign, Walnut Way Lane, and Peterson’s Pond Drive.  Police contacted the Wilkes Communications Center, and they advised none of the signs were reported stolen.  Police retrieved the street signs to store as evidence.
