WCC: Red Ribbon Week

Wilkes Community College is observing Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week today through Friday with a week-long lineup of educational events and guest speakers. The annual celebration continues to be celebrated nationally on college campuses as “Red Ribbon Week.”  Today at 11 a.m., you can enjoy a course in healthy tailgating at this walk-through event.  Pass the trivia round and enjoy free hotdogs and drinks. Wear your favorite sports team apparel and prize monies are available for teams winning the corn toss.  Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 17, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Pond Parking Lot, it’s “Trooper Cart.” The North Carolina Highway Patrol will host a golf cart obstacle course, simulating driving while impaired.  Participants can wear the Fatal Vision goggles and attempt to maneuver the course.  For information on this week’s events, call WCC Student Services at 336-838-6147.  The events are open to students, staff, and the public.
