A Wilkes Trailer Thief

If you own a trailer, beware.  Wilkes County has a trailer thief.  The Sheriff’s Department has received two different reports in a week regarding stolen trailers.  In the first report, a resident on North Quail Circle in Wilkesboro called.  He told Sheriff’s Officials that his 8x10 2002 Curr trailer was taken from his yard.  The thief had to hitch the trailer to another vehicle to steal it.  The stolen trailer is valued at 2500 dollars.  Then a resident on Falls Road in Moravian Falls called the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office with another theft.  The victim reported that his Carr trailer was stolen.  He went outside, saw a gate to his pasture open, and saw that the cows were in the wrong place.  That’s when he noticed that his dual axle Carr trailer valued at 1000 dollars was missing.  Again, someone would have to hitch it to a truck to steal it.  There are no suspects in either theft, but the investigations are still underway.  If you have any information on the stolen trailers, you may call the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office at 903-7600.
