Deputies Came In and Thief Went Out

When they came in the front door, the thief went out the backdoor.  The Wilkes Sheriff’s Office was called this week regarding a stolen TV from a home in North Wilkesboro.  The property owner had gone to the store.  In the short time they were gone, someone forcibly entered their house and stole a 42-inch Panasonic TV.  That was the only thing reported stolen.  The victim did have a possible suspect.  Sheriff’s Deputies went to the suspect’s house.  When the suspect came to the door, the Deputies asked for a consent to search the house.  The suspect agreed to let them in.  Then as the Deputies came in the front door, the suspect ran out the back door.  The Deputies found the stolen TV in the house but were unable to find the thief after he ran out the backdoor.  A warrant for his arrest has been issued and charges are pending.
