Sneaking in the Basement Door of Business
Friday, October 19, 2012 at 10:00AM Perhaps they thought if they came in through the basement, then they could avoid the burglar alarm. Wilkes Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a break-in at a local business this week. An alarm went off at Lackey’s Market on Hwy 18 in Boomer early yesterday morning. The suspects had left the scene before Deputies arrived. It was determined that the thief or thieves entered the store by prying the lock off the basement door. However, once inside the store, the alarm was tripped before the burglar or burglars could steal anything. Damages were estimated over 800 dollars; again there is no word on suspects but the Sheriff’s Department investigation is still underway.
