Weekend Arrests for Break-In and Common Law Robbery

The Wilkes Sheriff’s Department found the suspects and made a couple of arrests regarding a vehicle break-in and a common law robbery.  In the first report, Wilkes Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a suspicious person at a residence in Ferguson.  When Deputies arrived, they found the suspect inside a car.  The man had stolen some money and other items from the vehicle.  Philip Coe of Roaring River was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering.  Then Deputies received a call concerning threats and a robbery.  Deputies arrived at the residence in Traphill and spoke with the victim, who reported that a man forcibly took her cell phone and threatened to shoot her if she called 911.  The Deputies found the suspect and recovered the stolen property.  Boyd Garris, of Traphill, was arrested and charged with Common Law Robbery.  Also over the weekend, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 3 people on assault charges, 2 for breaking & entering, 2 for parole violations, 1 for violating a domestic violence restraining order, and 8 other arrests on various charges.
