Aluminum Stolen from Two Businesses
Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:48AM The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating thefts at two different businesses in the county. Both of the thefts involved stealing aluminum. In the first theft, employees at GCR Tire Center on Hwy 421 told Deputies that they found a section cut out of the fence surrounding the business. The thief or thieves took 4 aluminum truck wheels that were stored outside the building but inside the fence. Stolen wheels are valued at 80 dollars. Then a business owner in Roaring River reported a theft. The victim is self-employed and has a construction business. He told Sheriff’s Investigators that 250 dollars worth of aluminum was stolen. The theft occurred at a residence on Hwy 268 in Roaring River. No suspects were listed with either report.
