Hit & Run Twist
Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10:02AM Well here is an odd twist in a hit and run report. Usually, the driver responsible for the wreck is the one to leave the scene. However on Tuesday, the driver who was hit from behind by another car was the one to leave the area before Police arrived. Wilkesboro Police responded to a two-car fender bender on East Main Street about 1:45 Tuesday afternoon. The only driver still at the scene reported that she was traveling in the east bound lane behind a blue Toyota pickup. The pickup slowed for a traffic; however, the woman failed to slow down and hit the back bumper of the pickup. The pickup then left the scene. The woman who caused the wreck remained until Police arrived. She was charged with failure to reduce speed. Her vehicle sustained 3000 dollars in damages and was towed by Doug’s Salvage. Damages to the pickup and the name of the other driver, who is actually the victim in this wreck, is unknown at this time.
