Two Reports Involving Stolen Guns

One of the most items among home break-in thieves is guns.  So it is no surprise that guns continue to top the list of items stolen in Wilkes along with jewelry and prescriptions.  The Wilkes Sheriff’s Department was called recently regarding a theft at a house on Pads Road in North Wilkesboro.  The homeowner found their house forcibly entered and several guns and other property taken.  Stolen items included a gun safe, a muzzle loader, 4 rifles, a pistol, 2000 dollars in silver, and several thousand dollars in cash.  There are suspects in this break-in and charges are pending further investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.  (Additional)

A homeowner from Boone Trail also returned home to discover a break-in and a missing gun.  Again the theft report was filed with the Wilkes Sheriff’s Department.  The victim stated that they came home and found a door to their home forced open.  The thief got away with a bolt action rifle, 5 pocket knives, and a box of .22 ammunition.  There are no suspects in this break-in but the investigation is still underway.
