Several in Wilkes Early Voting

One week from today is Election Day.  When 3WC News asked the Wilkes Board of Elections how many people had taken advantage of the early voting so far, their response was “everyone and their brother.”  Approximately, 5300 in Wilkes have cast early ballots as of noon on Monday.  The Wilkes Board of Elections says in past election, they were busy the last 2 or 3 days.  However this year, they have been busy every day.  The average is 700 early voters per day, and Friday, a record setting 800 plus Wilkes residents voted in one day.  There are just over 42,000 register voters in Wilkes.  Again this reminder that ONE-Stop Voting is continuing through November 3, 2012.  The hours for ONE Stop Voting are 9 to 5 weekdays.  The only ONE-Stop Voting is this Saturday is November 3 from 9 til 1.  Voting for the November General Election is in the County Commissioners Meeting Room on the first floor of the County Office Building at 110 North Street, Wilkesboro.  Additional ONE-Stop Sites will be open today through November 2, from 9 to 4; and Saturday, November 3, 9 til noon, at Clingman Community Center, Millers Creek Fire Dept, and Mulberry Fire Dept.  Anyone with questions is asked to call the Wilkes Board of Elections at 651-7339.
