Wilkes, Iredell, and West Virginia

Part of the crime occurred in Iredell County and part in Wilkes County.  The person suspected of committing the two-county crimes was arrested in West Virginia.  The Iredell County Sheriff’s Department contacted the Wilkesboro Police Department this week concerning credit card fraud.  According to a Detective with Iredell Sheriff’s Dept, the suspect, Carol Taylor of Hamptonville, stole a credit card from a residence in Iredell and then used that stolen card to purchase a 500 dollar gift card at the Lowes Home Improvement Store in Wilkesboro.  Wilkesboro Police added a charge of obtaining property by false pretense to Taylor’s list of charges.  Taylor is currently awaiting extradition from West Virginia to Iredell County.
