They Cashed His Check While He Was In Jail

While he was in jail, someone cashed his check.  A 48-year-old Wilkesboro man was arrested for driving with license revoked, and at that time, he posted a 500 dollar bond.  The man was then sentenced to 45 days in Jail.  After serving his sentence, he went home to find a 500 dollar check had been sent to him from Wilkes Clerk of Superior Court, but the check was missing.  Further investigation revealed the check had been cashed at a local convenience store.  There are suspects in the forgery and check theft.  Video surveillance tapes are being obtained by Wilkesboro Police from the store where the check was cashed.  No charges have been filed at this time.
