Taken from Shopping Cart

Be careful to not leave anything of value in a shopping cart.  Many times we have reported on residents leaving pocketbooks, wallets, or electronic devices in shopping carts.  On rare occasions, a good Samaritan will find and return the thing left behind, but that was not the case in a report filed this week with Wilkesboro Police.  A Ronda woman reported that she left her LG cell phone in a shopping cart in the Walmart parking lot.  When she returned to retrieve the cell phone, it was gone.  Store staff said that no one had turned in the phone.  Wilkesboro Police are going to view store surveillance video to possibly identify the phone thief.  Charges are pending further investigation.
