Turned Himself In
Friday, July 13, 2012 at 9:32AM A man wanted on two open warrants related to drug charges turned himself in this week. In a report filed by Wilkesboro Police, Tony Steelman of Elkin came by the Wilkes Intake Center to turn himself in. The Wilkes Sheriff’s Department had issued warrants for Steelman’s arrest including two felony counts of manufacture of a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. Instead of being hunted down by local law enforcement, Steelman chose to just turn himself in. He was taken before the Magistrate and given a 2,500 dollar bond. Steelman was then transported to the Wilkes County Jail. His court date is set for August 1.
