Synthetic Marijuana Seized From Local Business

Charges have not yet been filed, but a synthetic marijuana has been seized from a local business through a joint operation of local law enforcement.  At the end of last year, North Wilkesboro Police began investigating an overdose.  Through their investigation, they found the substance used in the overdose was something called Dank which is a synthetic marijuana substance.  It was also determined that the Dank was purchased from Pipedreams in Wilkesboro.  Narcotics Officers from both Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro then started an investigation into the sale of illegal synthetic marijuana.  Earlier this year, Wilkesboro Police received information regarding juveniles at Cub Creek Apartments who were using a product called Crazy Monkey which is also a synthetic marijuana and which was also purchased at Pipedreams.  The joint investigation continued and a search warrant was issued last week for Pipedreams on East Main in Wilkesboro.  A total of 664 packages of synthetic marijuana products were seized and sent to the SBI for analysis.  The case is still under investigation and charges are pending.
