Vote in Second NC Primary Today
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 10:42AM It isn’t November yet, but it is voting day today in Wilkes and all of North Carolina. Today is 2nd Primary Election Day. According to the Wilkes Board of Elections, the polls opened at 6:30 am and will close at 7:30 pm. All Wilkes County polling places will be open. The Millers Creek Precinct which votes at West Wilkes Middle School will be voting in the Media Center for the 2ndPrimary only. Today’s Second Primary is a state-wide runoff election for the Republican and Democratic Primaries. The state wide offices for the Republican run-off are: NC LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR(Dan Forest, Tony Gurley), NC SECRETARY OF STATE(Kenn Gardner, Ed Goodwin), NC SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION, (Richard Alexander, John Tedesco), and NC COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE (Mike Causey, Richard Morgan). The statewide office for the Democratic run-off is: NC COMMISSIONER OF LABOR (Marlowe Foster, John C. Brooks). Again it is 2nd Primary Election Day today. Polls are already open and will close at 7:30 pm. 3WC will have results Wednesday morning.
