Charged With Assault

When they find the suspect, he will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and larceny.  In a report filed with Wilkes Sheriff’s Deputies, a Moravian Falls resident said an acquaintance came to take then to town to pay a bill.  While the acquaintance was inside the house, he grabbed 600 dollars in cash from the victim’s wallet and ran outside.  The victim pursued the thief to their vehicle to get his money back.  The man hit the victim with the driver’s side door and left the scene.  The victim was not seriously injured; however warrants have been issued for the acquaintance turned thief.  Sheriff’s Officials have his name and address, and charges of assault and theft are pending.
