Two Home Break-Ins

One went to work and one went out of town, but both fell victim to thieves.  The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Department was called to investigate a couple of home break-ins including one from a house and one from an apartment.  In the first, a homeowner on Friendship Cross Street came home from work and discovered a break-in and theft.  There were pry marks on the front door where entrance was gained inside the house.  The only thing reported stolen was a Dell laptop valued at 480 dollars.  There are no suspects in that break-in.  Then a victim in an apartment on Fairplains Ridge Road returned from a trip out of town.  When she entered her apartment, she found several things missing including 2 window air-conditioning units, a small safe, an xBox game system, and a Wii gaming system.  There are a couple of suspects in this theft and charges are pending further investigation.
