Stealing Drugs, a Tooth, Scooter, and Fishing Poles

The Wilkes Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate break-ins and thefts around the county.  A Byrd Ridge Road resident reported that someone forced their way into their locked house and stole some prescription medication.  The meds were the only thing reported stolen in that break-in.  The North Carolina Dept of Transportation reported a theft from a construction site on Lump Road in Purlear.  The DOT stated that someone had removed and stolen a metal tooth from a bulldozer.  Then a resident on Old Hwy 18 called Sheriff’s Officials about a theft from their property.  In this theft, a scooter was stolen from a shed beside their house.  A property owner on the Sparta Road in McGrady reported that someone entered an open shed they owned and stole 6 rod and reels valued at 680 dollars.  There is no word on suspects in either case, but the Sheriff’s Department is still investigating.
