Wednesday Morning North Wilkesboro Fire

An overheated adapter in an electrical outlet is being blamed for a fire yesterday morning.  The fire occurred at an apartment on 4^th Street in North Wilkesboro.  A woman, Megan Brooks, was asleep in the apartment at the time of the fire.  Her mother, Patricia Brooks, came to the apartment, smelled smoke, and called 911.  The two women escaped the apartment without injury.  Assistant Fire Marshal Nikki Hamby stated that it is believed the fire started from an electrical outlet adapter overheating.
