2 Cases of Credit Card Fraud

The Wilkes Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating at least two cases of credit card fraud.  In one report, a resident on the Statesville Road in North Wilkesboro called to report theft of his wallet.  According to the victim, he had unlocked the doors to his house and gone outside for a short time.  When he went back inside the house, he noticed his wallet was missing.  The stolen wallet contained the man’s Tyson Pay Card.  As Sheriff’s Officials were investigating the theft, it was determined that the stolen card had already been used at Walmart for a purchase over 300 dollars.  Sheriff’s Deputies were be gathering in store surveillance video as evidence to determine a possible suspect.  Then a Traphill man called the Sheriff’s Office with a report concerning his credit card.  It seems this time the victim’s card was used to pay someone’s power bill without their knowledge.  There is a suspect and charges are pending further investigation.
