Wanted in Surry; Arrested in Wilkes

A Wilkes County man was arrested this week after the Surry County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest.  According to the arrest report, Michael Shaun Butcher, was arrested in the Austin-Traphill area this week on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.  Butcher is accused of hitting someone in Surry County with a metal pipe.  Butcher was arrested on the assault by Wilkes County Deputies and taken to the Wilkes County Jail where he will await transfer to Surry County for prosecution.
