Running A Stop Sign and Drug Possession
Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:05AM A traffic stop in Wilkesboro for a traffic violation led to an arrest for drug possession. A Wilkesboro Police Officer observed a that failed to stop at the stop sign at the Intersection of Wilkes and College Streets near Tyson. The Officer initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver to be Broderick Hightower of Wilkesboro. The Officer gave Mr. Hightower a ticket for running a stop sign and asked for a consent to search him and the car. The driver consented to the search. Police found a small bag of marijuana and rolling paper packaging. Hightower was arrested and charged with 3 misdemeanor counts of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to stop at a stop sign. His bond was set at 750 dollars.
