The Stolen Steak Scam

Their scam was to go from grocery store to grocery store all over the area.  One would go in and steal a few packs of steaks.  Then the other would go in later and try to return the steaks for cash.  The one returning the steaks would use the excuse of something was wrong with the meat or they found a hair in the packaging.  Prices on the steak packages stolen ranged from 7 to 15 dollars.  Wilkesboro Police and the Wilkes Sheriff’s Department both received calls from area stores concerning the two women.  Video surveillance was obtained from the stores to use as evidence, and statements were given by store employees concerning the two women and their steal for cash scheme.  Courtney Saner and Angel Harrold were arrested by Wilkesboro Police for felony fraud and other charges.  Through the Sheriff’s Department investigation it was determined that a third woman, China Martin, was also involved.  Martin was arrested by the Wilkes Sheriff’s Department and charged with conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense.
