Another T-Dap Whooping Cough Clinic Today
Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 9:29AM The second of 4 Whooping Cough clinics is today. The Wilkes County Health Department is offering FREE TDAP (Whooping cough) CLINICS at area high schools. Debbie Nicholson of the Wilkes Health Dept says pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough, is a highly contagious disease spread from person to person, and can be fatal. AIR: What are whooping cough symptoms? AIR: Nicholson explains why Health Departments are seeking anyone 16 years and older who have not had a Tdap vaccine to come to a clinic. AIR: There are 3 more FREE Tdap clinics planned through the end of the month. Today, it’s at West Wilkes High - Media Center; next week--August 28, 2012 at East Wilkes High - Old Gym; and August 30, 2012 at Wilkes Central High - Old Gym. Tdap clinics will also be conducted for the PUBLIC from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at each school location. 226 people were vaccinated at North Wilkes on Tuesday which Nicholson says was a very good turnout.
