Stopping to Check Leads to Drug and B & E Arrests
Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 10:13AM A Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputy just decided to stop and check on a vehicle on the side of the road and that led to two arrests on multiple charges. The Deputy was traveling on Hwy 268 at Woodside Drive when he saw a vehicle stopped and parked on the side of the road. A man, a woman, and a child were at the scene. They explained that they had stopped there to allow the small child to play in the sand. While they were talking, the Deputy asked if he could do a search. They agreed. During the search, the Deputy found a handgun, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and some property stolen in a break-in that occurred earlier this week. The Deputy arrested the two adults at the scene. Christopher Carson was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of drug possession, drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia, and breaking & entering. Jacklyn Carson was arrested and charged with breaking & entering. DSS was called to take custody of the child.
