Wilkes Thieves Love Chainsaws
Friday, August 24, 2012 at 9:52AM Guard those chainsaws as they appear to be the hot ticket item in a couple of local thefts. A property owner on South Center Church Road called the Sheriff’s Office to report a theft from their outbuilding. The door to the building was closed but not locked. Someone entered the building sometime during the past week and took two chainsaws. The stolen property is described as a Dolmar chainsaw valued at 650 dollars and a Husqvarna chainsaw valued at 350 dollars. There are no suspects at this time. Then a resident on the Longbottom Road in Traphill called to report a break-in and theft. Again, the only thing reported stolen was a chainsaw. This one was an Echo valued at 400 dollars. There is a suspect in that theft and charges are pending.
