Congresswoman Foxx Votes Against Tax Increases
Friday, August 3, 2012 at 9:24AM Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) representing the 5th District here in Wilkes voted twice this week to stop ALL scheduled 2013 tax increases. A bipartisan majority in the House voted with Foxx to defeat President Obama’s tax plan that would increase taxes on 940,000 small businesses next year. Immediately after, by a bipartisan vote of 256 –171, the House passed the Job Protection and Recession Prevention Act (H.R. 8) to maintain current tax rates for all Americans. Foxx explained to 3WC why this vote was important. AIR You can hear my complete interview with the Congresswoman on our website as a Focus on the Foothills podcast.
