Attempted Theft at Local Business

A local businesses called the Wilkes Sheriff’s Department recently to report an attempted theft and damages.  The call came in from the Little Market Basket on Hwy 268 in Wilkesboro.  Reportedly, some thieves attempted to steal the central air unit located outside the store.  Some copper wire pulled out and there was damages to the unit totally 270 dollars; however, nothing appears to have been stolen.  It is unclear according to the report as to why the thieves did not finish the job.  Again, nothing was stolen but damages were nearly 300 dollars.  There are no suspects at this time.
