CORRECTION: Took Baby Shoplifting

3WC News needs to air a retraction and make corrections to a story that aired on Tuesday of this week regarding two females that were arrested for shoplifting at Walmart.  The two women Sarah Shaffner and a 16-year-old were arrested after store employees observed them concealing items in a Walmart bag.  3WC incorrectly stated that Shaffner had a baby with her at the time.  Actually, the 8-month-old child belonged to the 16-year-old.  The mother of the teen was asked to come and get the baby while the 16-year-old was being questioned by Police.   A glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue was found on Shaffner during a search.  She was charged with 3 misdemeanor counts of larceny, simple marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  According to the Wilkesboro arrest report, the 16-year-old was charged with misdemeanor larceny.  3WC News apologizes for the error.
