Helping in the Community
Monday, September 10, 2012 at 9:49AM It began on Saturday. Lowe’s Heroes are volunteering their time and skills to construct a storage building for the Shepherd’s Household in Roaring River, N.C. The new storage area will allow the children’s home to free up needed space in the house. The Shepherd’s Household offers a loving home and school for troubled, lost, and hurting children. The education offered in the Shepherd’s Household extends beyond academics. They teach the children how to live life by taking responsibility for themselves and their actions. Lowe’s Heroes is a company-wide volunteer initiative that offers Lowe’s employees the opportunity to work on a project in their own neighborhood, helping to make their communities better places to live, work and play. The project will take place over four Saturdays. It began this past Saturday and will continue each Saturday through October 6. The Shepherd’s Household is on Ranse Staley Road in Roaring River.
