NC Gov Orders Flags to Half Staff

North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue has ordered that North Carolina flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset today (Wednesday, September 12), at the State Capital, State Highway Patrol offices and state facilities in Nash County in tribute to Trooper B. Gene DeMuth of Rocky Mount.  Trooper DeMuth, age 42, was killed Saturday in the line of duty.  He was struck and killed by a suspect’s vehicle while he was positioning stop sticks to halt a pursuit. The Trooper’s funeral will also be held in Rocky Mount today.  Other communities wishing to lower the state flag today as a sign of respect may do so.
