Thousands in Cash and Guns Stolen
Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 9:30AM Nearly 24,000 dollars in cash and guns were stolen in a home break-in over the weekend. A resident on the Congo Road called the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office Friday regarding a break-in. The homeowners had left home early Friday morning just to return home later that day to a break-in and theft. Someone gained access to the house by kicking open the basement door. Several long guns and pistols were stolen along with several thousand dollars in cash. In all, nearly 24,000 dollars in property was stolen from the home. There are currently no suspects, but the Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate.
