More and More Home Break-Ins

It is an ongoing problem in the area…home break-ins.  Each week, the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a list of reports.  Even though there have been 6 arrests just this week for break-ins and larceny with some stolen property being recovered, still local thieves continue to force their way into homes and outbuildings.  Reports added to the list this week include a home break-in in North Wilkesboro.  The theft happened at a residence on Broadway Tower Road.  The victim returned home to find the back door pried open.  The thief took a knife and a camera.  Then at a home in Purlear, no break-in was reported but a grill was reported stolen.  And finally, a Hays resident on the Dehart Community Center Road reported that someone entered their house and stole some prescription medication.  No suspects were given in either of these cases that the Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating.
