Stabbing in Wilkes Leaves One in ICU

One man in Baptist Hospital following a fight that ended in a stabbing yesterday on Country Club Road.  According to the report, Wilkes Sheriff’s Deputies were called out Wednesday after two men got into an altercation that escalated to one pulling a knife.  The victim, a 25-year-old man, was stabbed several times in the chest.  He was taken to Baptist Hospital and underwent surgery yesterday.  The Wilkes Sheriff’s Office says the victim is currently in ICU.  Sheriff’s Deputies are still looking for the suspect who is facing charges of assault with intent to kill.
