Equipment and Tools Stolen from Parks & Recreation
Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 9:52AM They found the evidence of a break-in early Monday morning. Wilkesboro Police were called out before 6am yesterday to the Wilkes County Parks & Recreation Building at River’s Edge Park. An employee had arrived to work and had found a door damaged and slightly open. Upon further inspection, it was determined that several things had been stolen from inside the building including a leaf blower, weedeater, drill, and box of tools. All the stolen tools and equipment are of the brand name Stihl and are valued over 1300 dollars. Damages to the door of the Parks & Recreation building are estimated at 800 dollars. Police will be obtaining surveillance video to identify any suspects in this break-in and theft.
