Stolen in Ronda; Wrecked in North Wilkesboro

A car stolen in Ronda was wrecked and abandoned in North Wilkesboro.  Wilkes Sheriff’s Deputies were called to investigate a vehicle theft from a home on Somers Road.  The victim said they went to bed at 10pm.  When her husband came home at 3am, he asked where the car was.  The vehicle, which had been parked in the driveway, was gone.  Reportedly, the keys were left outside.  The thief; however, was either a bad driver or driving while impaired.  The stolen car later found by  North Wilkesboro Police.  The thief crashed into a power pole on Second Street and then fled the scene on foot.  No arrests have been made at this time as local law enforcement are still investigating the car theft and the car wreck.
