Stealing Steel
Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 9:45AM It’s another of those thefts that leave you wondering: why didn’t someone notice? It’s not like what they stole could be simply slipped into a pocket or something. In a report filed with the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office this week, someone stole a dozen steel beams from an Austin-Traphill Road location. The property owner called the Sheriff’s Office to investigate the theft of 12 steel beams valued at 750 dollars. The steel beams were 10 to 12 feet in length, so there was probably more than one person involved in this theft. Sheriff’s Officials do have a suspect in this theft and charges are pending.
