Logging Truck Overturns on Hwy 268 East

Road crews are still working on clean-up and road repair following a logging truck wreck on Hwy 268 East last night.  Hwy 268 from west of Ronda to just east of Roaring River was blocked and traffic re-routed for several hours last night.  Reportedly, a tractor trailer with a load of logs overturned onto a bank on the side of the road near the Landfill.  3WC is waiting for a statement from the Highway Patrol as to the cause of the wreck.  It is unknown if the wreck happened due to a mechanical malfunction or an oversized load.  The 18-wheeler overturned about 6pm Wednesday dumping a load of logs and a load of fuel on the highway and roadside.  The truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  Again, work continues today on Hwy 268 East near the Landfill to be sure all fuel is cleaned up and to repair the highway and roadside.
