Selling Stolen Tools Ends With 2 Arrests

They tried to sell stolen tools to employees of the company where they stole the tools.  Wilkesboro Police were called last week after two men in a white van tried to sell stolen tools.  An employee of a company hit by thieves recognized the tools from his employer and called Police.  When Police arrived, they two men first tried to hide the tools in the van, but when asked, allowed Police to search the van.  When doing an inventory of the van, Wilkesboro Police found stolen property from two different locations.  Over 2000 dollars in tools were stolen from the Wilkes Parks & Recreation building on Industrial Drive, and over 3000 dollars in tools were taken from Martin Roofing vehicles on Golden Needles Street.  The recovered stolen property was identified and returned to the owners.  The two thieves:  Gary Gaultney and Christopher Johnson were arrested for breaking & entering, larceny, and injury to real property.  They were taken to jail each with a 15,000 dollar bond.
