Strong Armed Robbery & Similar Incident

A Strong Armed Robbery occurred at a Byrd Ridge Road residence this week and is currently being investigated by the Wilkes Sheriff’s Department.  The victim told Deputies that 3 men wearing black clothing and dark bandannas rushed into his home Tuesday night.  The victim was hit in the head with the butt of a pistol.  The victim and a friend at the house were told to get on the floor.  Reportedly, the victim’s wife was pulled from the bedroom and placed on the floor, too.  The three armed bandits then demanded money and jewelry.  An undisclosed amount of cash and a cell phone was taken.  A neighbor reported seeing 3 men running from the house.  Their identity is unknown, but again, the investigation is continuing.  In a similar incident, the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office also received a report of a home break-in at a Moravian Falls resident.  A man reported seeing someone in a black hoodie around his neighbor’s house.  There was a brief altercation between the man and the suspect who got away with only a few tools stolen from the residence.  Sheriff’s Officials are still investigating.
