Medicine Drop and Child Seat Check on Saturday
Friday, September 28, 2012 at 9:29AM SAFE Kids of Wilkes in conjunction with local law enforcement and the health department are conducting another Child Safety Seat Check and Operation Medicine Drop this Saturday. Major David Carson of the Wilkes Sheriff’s Office explains the law concerning child car safety and the need for having the seats checked. AIR Operation Medicine Drop begins at 1pm. Carson says removing unused medication from your home is very important. AIR The Child Safety Seat Check is at WalMart from 8 til Noon. It’s free, takes about 10 minutes, and they will help replace defective seats. Then the Operation Medicine Drop at WalMart is from 1 – 6pm. It’s no questions asked. Anyone can stop by to drop off any kind of drugs for disposal with no questions asked. Also it is important to bring medicines to a drop-off for proper disposal to avoid contaminating ground water, rivers, and streams.
