Help for Veterans

Here is an invitation for those who have served in the US Military.  Veterans in need will be able to access help with housing, haircuts, showers, employment and legal counseling, mental health assessments, mammograms, flu shots and substance abuse services at the annual Bull City Stand Down, September 14, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Durham County Memorial Stadium, located at 750 Stadium Drive, Durham, N.C.   A group of local businesses, together with non-profit and government agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, are finalizing plans for the annual event focused on helping Veterans who are homeless or lack stable housing.  Free booth space(s) are available to employers and other Veteran service agencies interested in providing on-site support to Veterans.  The North Carolina Vietnam Memorial Wall will also be on display.  For more information about the 2012 Bull City Veterans Stand Down, please call Angelia Snipes, Co-Chair at (919) 797 - 0565.
