Shoplifting with Minors at Her Side

A woman with 3 children in her care was caught shoplifting in Wilkesboro.  In a report filed with Wilkesboro Police Department, Loss Prevention Officers called Police after they caught and detained a shoplifter.  The 31-year-old from North Wilkesboro had 3 juvenile children with her at the time.  She was seen taking items from the store, concealing them in her pocketbook, and then leaving the store without paying.  When Police arrived, the woman admitted to taking items from the store.  She was asked to call someone to come to the store and get her two children.  The mother of the third child was called to come and pick her up.  The female shoplifter was transported to the Wilkes County Jail and DSS was contacted about the incident involving the children.  The woman was released on a 500 dollar bond.
